# Omnisend

> Create an Omnisend API key and connect it in Notify Me.

Omnisend receives each **subscriber** as a contact with the tag you pick, plus join and alert events after Notify Me sends the email.

  Notify Me still sends the alert email. Omnisend does not send it for you.

## Create an API key

Do this in Omnisend, then paste the key into Notify Me.

    In [Omnisend](https://www.omnisend.com), go to **Store settings** → **API keys** (or **Integrations & API** → **API keys**).

  <Step title="Create a key">
    Choose **Create API key**. Name it `Notify Me`. Turn on **Contacts** and **Events**. Leave other permissions off unless you need them.

  <Step title="Copy the key">
    Choose **Create API key**, then copy it. Omnisend will not show it again. See [Omnisend: generate an API key](https://support.omnisend.com/en/articles/1061890-generate-an-api-key-in-omnisend).

## Connect in Notify Me

    In Notify Me, choose **Integrations** in the left nav, then **Connect** on Omnisend.

  <Step title="Paste the key and test">
    Paste the API key and choose **Test**. When the test succeeds, pick the **Tag**. New contacts get that tag.

    Choose **Save**. The Omnisend card shows **Active**.

## What syncs

| When | Omnisend event |
| - | - |
| Shopper becomes a subscriber | `Waitlist Joined` |
| Notify Me sends a restock alert | `Back in Stock` |
| Notify Me sends a price drop alert | `Price Drop` |

Use those events in an Omnisend automation. The contact also gets product properties such as title, URL, and variant.

## Pause or disconnect

Choose **Manage** on the Omnisend card.

* Turn off **Sync waitlist signups and alert events** to pause without removing the key. The badge shows **Inactive**.
* Paste a new key and **Test** to replace the current key.
* Choose **Disconnect** to remove the connection.
